Stuart Jackson, Chairman, TyreSafe

Stuart Jackson has been chairman of TyreSafe since 2009 and is a respected and renowned personality in the UK tyre industry. As the spokesperson for TyreSafe, Stuart has appeared on national television and at major events, communicating a range of tyre safety issues.

Stuart’s passion for the subject finds particular focus in educating drivers to affect behaviour change.

“Working with supporters and partners such as the police, TyreSafe campaigns to create awareness of the importance of tyre safety and educate motorists in the checks they should carry out at least once a month and before long journeys.

“Research shows a clear need for the campaign and a change in attitudes towards tyre safety among Britain’s motorists. One-in-five have never checked their tyres while among the under 25 year-olds that figure jumps to one-in-three. Routine tyre maintenance can save lives and there’s no excuse for not making a habit of carrying out regular checks - they don’t take long and are not difficult.

“From a personal perspective, I’m very proud of TyreSafe’s work and its achievements, which continue to gain momentum year-on-year.”

Presentation: The dangers of defective and illegal tyres
TyreSafe is the UK’s charity dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of regular tyre maintenance checks and highlighting the dangers of defective and illegal tyres.

TyreSafe’s research has highlighted over 20% of van tyres are already illegal when replaced and exposed a significant issue of overloading among van and commercial vehicle drivers, which is not only illegal but also puts additional stress on the vehicle’s tyres.

TyreSafe chairman, Stuart Jackson, will discuss the evidence and how the issue can be addressed through commercial vehicle driver and operator education.
