Duncan Buchanan joined the Road Haulage Association in August 2016 where he is now policy director, England and Wales.  He is a logistics policy expert who has worked across Government and industry. In 10 years working for the Department for Transport he led on goods vehicle operator licensing, roadworthiness and sustainable freight policy.

He managed UK negotiations on EU roadworthiness directives and was vice chairman of the International Transport Forum Road Committee between 2014 and 2016. Prior to working in Government, Duncan worked for international freight businesses in commercial and operational roles covering freight transport by sea, air and road.
