Nina Day CEng, Policy Advisor, HSE Transport Sector
Nina Day is a Policy Advisor for the Health & Safety Executive, specialising in road and workplace transport. She joined HSE in 2000, working on the investigation of fatal and serious injury incidents in the construction, manufacturing, and offshore industries.
In 2006, she started working in transport, developing the load security enforcement approach now used by DVSA and police forces, carrying out research projects into different aspects of vehicle, driver, and load safety, and providing training and consultancy to companies alongside enforcement support.
In her current role, she is the HSE policy lead on vehicle load security and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), and she liaises with police forces, DVSA, Highways England, and other bodies in relation to road safety.
Nina is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). She is also a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor.
