Presentation: CEMEX UK – Reducing Risk and Encouraging Safe Road Sharing
CEMEX UK has launched a dedicated campaign to raise awareness of road safety, for both the pedestrian and the LGV driver.

The programme centres on five key areas including education, collaboration and vehicle specification, to ensure both parties are as prepared as possible to share the road safely with one another and mitigate risks. LGV drivers have been encouraged to complete training on bikes, to better understand the experience of the cyclist, while cyclists and pedestrians themselves have also been able to get inside trucks and look at the different safety features.

CEMEX has worked closely with key organisations such as Brake and the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, alongside visiting schools and community groups to better disseminate key messages. The success of this campaign has seen it expanded to other CEMEX operations worldwide.
