Andy Taylor, Consultant

Andy Taylor has 30 years’ experience working as a police officer, during which time he served on the North West Motorway Police Group as well as Traffic Units covering the Cheshire Police area.

Andy has a specialism in drug recognition and driver impairment, having trained in this field with the California Highway Patrol in Clearlake, Oakland and Sacramento. He also has extensive experience in enforcement and education within the driver impairment field, and was a national instructor delivering training to Police and trainers.

He has worked in partnership with agencies to deliver driver impairment education, and contributed to regional and national media campaigns including the first DfT THINK! drug driving  campaign in 2009.

In 2015, Andy sat on a panel at the College of Policing to review and set police drink and drug drive training, and was Cheshire Police’s road safety officer delivering presentations to schools, colleges, businesses, the Judiciary and in prisons.

He now works as a self employed drug and alcohol diversion trainer and delivers road safety training to businesses.

This presentation will cover drink and drug legislation, the effects of certain drugs and latest trends. It will also look at company policies and strategies to ensure compliance within the work place surrounding alcohol and drugs.
